Pīwakawaka (Fantail)

You’ve got to be on your toes when you’re an insectivore. That’s why, when you’re walking in the bush or turning over the soil in the garden, the Pīwakawaka are there, with a cheery "peep peep", constantly flitting to catch the tiny bugs. It's beautiful fanned tail gives them amazing acrobatic abilities, flitting and darting to catch the insects. A beautiful wee much-loved bird for your backyard.
