From the original acrylic on 750mm round panel painting 'Gecko and Alpine Ecosystem I' 2015 by Anna Priluka.
This painting celebrates the beauty and diversity of the high alpine areas of New Zealand's South Island. New Zealand has an abundance of unique geckos, many of which live in alpine habitats. Due to their cryptic colouring and elusive nature, new species are still being identified.
This gecko is one of the Mokopiriraku sp. complex. It is surrounded by a selection of native alpine flora and fauna, including the Mount Cook Lily (Ranunculus lyallii), actually the world's largest buttercup, Celmisia daisies, alpine lichens, the Bat Winged Cannibal Fly (Exsul singularis), and the Cushion Plant (Raoulia haastii) -
All prints have excellent archival properties and are printed in Nelson, New Zealand on 300gsm, 100% post consumer waste recycled stock. Please be aware that because the prints are made with recycled stock, very tiny flecks may be present on some of the paper.
